The brand-new 3A spy-activist adventure game, ” 007: First Splash ” , created by the killer series developer, IO Interactive, was officially launched on 27 May, and it is reported that the number of games sold has now exceeded 2.2 million, generating $150 million in revenue.
Rhys Elliott, the market analyst for Alinea Analytics, announced on social platforms that the sales of ” 007: First Splash ” came mainly from PlayStation and that the real game had been sold out, so that real sales data did not exist in retail stock. The PS5 platform sold 55.1 per cent, Steam 33.1 per cent, and Xbox (Xbox mainframe, Windows and cloud games combined) 11.8 per cent.

According to data published by IO Interactive, 1.5 million copies were sold within 24 hours of the sale of 007: First Splash. IO Interactive states that ” 007: The First Splash ” is the fastest-selling game in the history of the studio, surpassing any one of the ” Killer ” games, and that this achievement was achieved without the help of the Switch 2 platform, which will be released this summer.
According to Rhys Elliott, the sale of 007: The First Splash has reached $150 million, 60.5 per cent from PlayStation, 27.6 per cent from Steam and 12.9 per cent from Xbox. This is partly due to the fact that more than two thirds of the players in the PS5 edition of ” 007: the dawn ” come from North America (43.4 per cent) or Western Europe (23.2 per cent), where the game is more expensive. On the Steam platform, less than half of the players from the above areas (31.8 per cent in North America and 15.1 per cent in Western Europe). It is worth mentioning that the Steam edition in China is more than expected and now accounts for 17.3 per cent of all first Light Steam players.

Despite the strong start of ” 007: The dawn ” , IO Interactive still has a way to go. According to Danish media reports, the budget for ” 007: The First Spear ” amounts to 1.3 billion kroner (slightly over $202 million). According to Danish TV 2 , ” 007: The First Spectrum ” is the most costly entertainment product in the country ‘ s history.
However, there is also a more complex question of the success of the business of ” 007: the dawn ” . Following an agreement between IO Interactive and the copyrighting party 007 to cooperate in the development of ” 007: The Spectrum ” , the Amazon acquired the copyright of IP 007. The Amazon game studio had previously announced that all future 007 games would be released, while 007: The First Splash was independently distributed by IO Interactive.
Clearly, IO Interactive hopes that the game will be successful enough to continue to develop the story that continues with 007. In fact, IO Interactive had expressed the wish to produce a three-part James Bond game.
