Apple 500 million bets MP Materials!

Apple has been committed to promoting environmental initiatives and, through its development policies and strategies, has sought to be a leader in American manufacturing. The company has a long-standing commitment to promote sustainable and scalable technologies to support economic growth. One way to achieve this is to establish a secure supply chain in key indigenous material areas.

It is reported that apples are continuing their commitment to invest $50 billion in the United States over four years through a $500 million cooperation agreement with MP Materiels to recycle facilities to deal with rare earth resources in abandoned equipment and to focus on rare earth elements. Apple had recently announced that it would invest $50 billion in the United States over the next four years to reduce its dependence on Chinese manufacturing and strengthen its indigenous supply chain.

Through this investment, apples will be purchased from the United States of America for rare earth magnets produced by MP Materiels at the Vossburg factory in Texas, and will be added to the plant for the production of gill magnets specially designed for apple equipment. Both sides will also establish a rare earth recovery line in Mantingpas, California. This cooperation will not only increase production, but will also increase employment as demand for advanced manufacturing and research and development inputs increase. At the same time, this will facilitate the creation of new processing technologies designed to enhance the performance of magnets.

Apple’s announced investment stems from the ongoing pressure by the Trump government to make iPhone in the United States. In addition, the Government has consistently urged businesses to focus on the control of the rare land in order to give priority to national security. Apple ‘ s commitment is consistent with the goal of protecting national interests and promoting innovation in the United States. Tim Cook, in announcing this major investment, spoke of deepening investment in the United States economy, emphasizing: “The United States innovation drives all of our apples’ actions, and we are proud to deepen investment in the United States economy. Rare earth materials are essential for the production of advanced technologies, and this cooperation will help to enhance the supply of these key materials on the United States soil. We are greatly encouraged by the future of American manufacturing and will continue to invest in the wisdom, creativity and innovation of the American people.”

Apple was the first company to use rare earth elements in consumer electronics, starting with the touch engine of iPhone 11 in 2019. Since then, the technological giant has made great strides; today, almost all of its equipment is made from recycled rare earth materials. The collaboration with MP Materiels aims to boost the rare-earth industry in the United States, while promoting recycling technologies while ensuring a reliable indigenous supply.
