OpenAI Open weight model officially landed on the AWS platform, GPT New Powered Cloud Development

The Amazon announced that the two most recent open weight basis models, gpt-oss-120b and gpt-oss-20b, launched by OpenAI, have now officially landed on their generating AI platform, Amazon Bedrock, and machine learning platform, Amazon SageMaker AI. This represents a major ecological expansion of the AWS cloud platform for the generation of AI products, and millions of businesses will be able to gain easier access to strong AI technology and advanced reasoning capabilities.

In terms of performance, AWS claims that the flagship gpt-oss-120b presents a significant advantage: its value is three times as high as the Google Gemini model, five times as high as the DeepSeek-R1 model, and even twice as high as the OpenAI homeo4 model.

The new model has a strong advanced reasoning capability, particularly for driving intelligent workflows, programming aids, scientific analysis and solving complex multi-step issues. They support key functions such as thought chain output, web search and code interpretation, and have a context window of 128 K token to efficiently process large documents.

In terms of safety and responsibilities deployment, the OpenAI model has been Depthly integrated into the Guardrails (protective fence) function of Amazon Bedrock. Through configurable filters, the system can intercept up to 88 per cent of harmful content. In addition, the model itself has undergone a comprehensive security assessment to ensure its responsible deployment.

For users requiring more in-depth control and customization, on the Amazon SageMaker AI platform, clients can use the OpenAI model for pre-training, model assessment, fine-tuning and custom deployments, fully utilizing the AWS powerful machine learning tool package. At the industry application level, AWS indicated that prominent organizations such as Pfizer, Siemens, PGA ToUR and GoDaddy are already using Amazon Bedrock to promote their generation AI transformation. With the addition of OpenAI, it became the newest member in the ecosystem of the growing open weight model provider of AWS, following Meta, Mistral AI, etc.

The Director General of AWS Products, Atul Deo, commented: “The open weight model is an important area of innovation for the future development of generating AI technology, so we invest our resources in making AWS the best platform for operating such models. The participation of OpenAI as the newest provider is a natural manifestation of our commitment to providing cutting-edge AI to global organizations. Our unparalleled client size also marks a transformative shift in access to advanced OpenAI technology.”

“Our open weight model is designed to help developers, whether independent builders or large business teams, to unlock the possibilities of new applications in a variety of industries and applications. Working with AWS, we are providing powerful and flexible tools to make it easier for clients to build, innovate and expand their AI applications than ever before.”
